Fujibio Fecal Occult Blood Rapid Test Kit is a screening method for colon cancer. It uses a direct binding immunoassay for the rapid, qualitative detection of human occult blood in feces. The assay is designed to detect lower levels of colorectal bleeding than other biochemical methods.
FOB test adopts immunochromatographic sandwich method, which employs two specific monoclonal antibodies to selectively identify hemoglobin in test samples. The result is very specific and easier to interpret than those of guaiac-based test. The sensitivity is very high with the ability to detect 200 ng/ml hemoglobin in feces.
It is a rapid immunochromatographic direct binding test for the visual detection of hemoglobin in fecal samples. When add three drops of the specimen to the sample well, the specimen is absorbed into the device by capillary action, mixes with the hemoglobin specific antibody-dye conjugate, and flows across the pre-coated membrane.
When the hemoglobin antigen levels are at or above the target cutoff (the detection limit of the test), the antigen in the specimen bind to the antibody-dye conjugate and are captured by antibodies immobilized in the test region (T) of the device. This produces a colored test band and indicates a positive result.
When the hemoglobin antigen levels are zero or below the target cut off, there is no visible colored test region (T) of the device and it indicates a negative result. To serve as a procedure control, a colored line will appear at the control region (C) , if the test has been performed properly.
